Jody Whitt

Principal

Jody Whitt is recognized for his expertise and attention to detail in the areas of construction loan consulting, due diligence and project management. With more than 20 years of experience in construction risk management for commercial lenders, he has consulted on a variety of projects throughout the United States, including multifamily dwellings, assisted living facilities, mixed-use developments, places of worship, industrial buildings, restaurants, office buildings and land developments. Throughout his career, Jody has worked with more than 200 financial institutions, from conventional real estate lenders to government guaranteed lenders providing SBA and USDA loan programs. He takes pride in helping clients protect their investments and achieve successful outcomes for their construction projects, from pre-closing through project closeout.

Additionally, Jody has overseen geologists in an environmental consulting capacity, providing site assessments and testing applications, including Phase I, Phase II, asbestos, radon and mold evaluations. Jody has also been called upon throughout his career to provide lenders with capital needs assessments for existing property transactions. These assessments extend across a broad range of guidance platforms, including ASTM, HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Jody holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University. Prior to starting Whitt Consulting, his experience includes working for well-known consulting firms such as AKT Peerless and Construction Loan Consultants, as well as eight years of engineering management with Milliken and Company. In his spare time, Jody is an active member at the Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Parish in downtown Atlanta, where he volunteers in the St. Vincent DePaul Outreach Ministry. He is also a member of the Georgia Lenders Quality Circle and the Laurel Springs Golf Club. Jody has two children, John and Pierce, and resides in Johns Creek, Georgia.
